ADMISSION

Floral Design Institute, Inc. is a Florida Non Profit Corporation whose goal is to train individuals to be leading floral designers. The Institute is been managed on a daily basis by the founder and director, Dornett L. Mullings, who has over fifteen years of experience in managerial positions in the floral industry.

The administration of the Institute is further strengthened by a six member board of directors comprised of a diverse group of individuals with qualifications in law, accounting, floral design, etc. The board meets regularly to review the Institution's operations, policies and evaluate future plans.
The Institute is located in the floral district in Miami, Florida which is the single largest floral district in the country. Within this floral district all product inputs and services required by the floral industry are easily available. This will allow students to see and experience all the different facets of the industry at work. The floral district is home to floral designers, distributors, accessories suppliers, floral transportation companies, freight forwarders and chain supermarket floral buyers. We will organize field trips so that students will have first hand contact with these different aspects of the industry. We will also organize frequent visits by industry experts who will come in and conduct seminars and workshops throughout the course semester.
